How long do mattresses usually last?

LIFESPAN OF EVERYDAY USED PRODUCTS:

The lifespan of household items or apparel usually does not last long. Yes, you heard it right. No matter how expensive the product is. Now, let me take you through one of my bad experiences.

The same is the case with the mattress, but we will get into it later.

Recently, I went to an outlet and loved an article. I bought that article immediately, and after its first wash, the color of my shirt faded. It shrank, and I could not even fit in it. It ruined my mood; after all, that was the only piece left in that clothing brand, and its style suited me so well.

My friend got a new car. It was a high-end luxury car—the leather seats, a navigation system, and an audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. But then, a few days later, his car got in contact with a vehicle, which caused scratches and dents to it. This caused significant damage to the car. The paint also started damaging. Now, who would assume that such minor changes can ruin the whole look of your expensive car? Trust me, and those minor dents looked terrible on his car.

Such conditions depict that our everyday products have got a shorter lifespan.

HOW LONG SHOULD A MATTRESS LAST?

Like all other everyday used things, the lifespan of a mattress is a bit different. Mostly a bed lasts for 7 to 10 years. It would last for around 7 to 10 years if it is of good quality. Or else it would last for 3 to 5 years only. Now, the question arises of how one would know there is a need to visit a mattress store.

WHEN TO REPLACE A MATTRESS:

Rush to the nearest mattress store and get rid of the older one!

You are tossing and turning to every side of the bed, having a restless night’s sleep, and suffering from back pains. This is the time to replace your old mattresses. Replace it if the foam is no longer moist and soft. After all, what’s the use if it does not provide a comforting and relaxing sleep.

If your mattress is making noises or smells terrible and causing allergies. Then time to find a substitute mattress.

SIGNS TO REPLACE YOUR MATTRESS:

If you are serious about replacing your mattress, you can check out the sleep king mattress. Its padding is just perfect for your bed. Padding could be of cotton or polyester, providing comfort. Sleep king mattress offers excellent back support. And it comes in high density to prevent it from getting damaged.

The following signs give an alert that you should visit a mattress store:

A SAGGING MATTRESS:

A drooping mattress indicates that it’s time to relax on your new bed. It results in wear and tears caused when the springs lose their firmness.

SLEEPING POSITION:

If you lie on the same side of the bed every day, the shape and balance might change. In this way, the mattress does not get enough support from the box springs and starts sinking. This causes it to droop.

INFLUENCING MATTRESS LIFESPAN FACTORS:

Mattresses cannot last for an eternity!

The following factors impact the lifespan of mattresses:

WATERPROOF PROTECTION:

By incorporating waterproof protection to your mattresses, one can increase their lifespan. It acts as a defense layer against dirt and germs. This invisible layer of security has become a necessity because of the pollution around us.

ASK YOUR CHILDREN TO STOP JUMPING ON BED:

If you have kids or pets in your home, refrain them from jumping on your bed. It could cause mishaps, and debris can quickly accumulate on it.

BED FRAME SUPPORTING MATTRESSES:

Ensure that the mattress has the support according to its structural design and requirements. Box springs are best for spring mattresses, whereas memory foam requires firm, rigid support.

SELECTION OF MATERIAL:

Visit the mattress store and opt for a mattress of natural material. It must consist of an innerspring which would last longer.

To influence the lifespan of mattresses, opt for a sleep king mattress. It gives a more extended warranty period, and it would not sag for at least 4 to 5 years. If you struggle for a good sleep, try to reduce your phone usage at night, apart from investing in mattresses. Instead of visiting mattress stores too frequently, follow a proper sleep routine and open a window to let in cool breezes.

Once you receive your new mattress, please refrain from having breakfast in bed and splashing coffee. Save your bed from a mess and let it influence its lifespan.
